AGS Rebuilding and Refurbishment
This page is designed to update students, parents and the community with regard to our inclusion in the Government's School Rebuilding Programme.
After many, many months of work behind the scenes, contracts were signed and the contractors - Morgan Sindall - started to move their equipment onto the AGS site. There is a long way to go, but 8 September 2025 marked the start of the physical aspect of the scheme. The slideshow below shows the most recent picture updates with historical galleries further down the page.
06 - 09 January 2026 - Demolition begins! The music room and old gym are systematically picked apart with all materials sorted into piles for recycling.
05 December - Further segregation works ensuring safeguarding of AGS students.
25 November - Morgan Sindall compound and access road nearing completion. Material removal from music room and old gym prior to demolition.
29 September 2025 - work continues with holes appearing everywhere! All existing pipework/cabling being identified.
